Red city Donair is the best doniar shop in Alberta
I love this place !!!

The food is always fantastic but it doesn't seem like it is open on a regular basis or have regular hours of operation.

Some consistency would be nice.

I love going to RED CITY DONAIR!! It feels like your in New York. It has a welcoming atmosphere and the owners always make me a huge , I mean HUGE donair! Yeah I pay 12 bucks for a sandwich but I'm so full, I'm good to go all day. The Sauce on the Pitas is the bomb, I will pay for the recipe. I asked Andy where donair comes from....he said it started between Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Tel Aviv, and Palastine Beach.....the donair add culture to Red Deer alberta, and we could use it.

Be prepared to get charged more than advertised price! Ordered a regular donair with no extras.($7 something advertised) and got charged $12!! I asked the guy to Calculate it with GST for me and didnt even try and said it's right. This has happened to me a few times with different prices every time!huh?!?!

Red City makes the best donair I have eaten in many years. It is a business started by a father with the intent of passing it to his son Ray. As soon as you enter the small corner shop you see vibrant colors and hand painted murals on the walls. The owner and operator of the business is a kind man who opens his shop to anyone on Christmas day and offers free food. On Christmas day he not only feeds the poor and homeless but many people who have moved away from their families in search of employment in Alberta. There are often teenagers in the shop who refer to him as Papa, more of a nickname than a title. Ray (his son) is an excellent chef and good company when Papa is out. The food is excellent and the people friendly, this is a new version of the old diner, the server seems to know everyone who enters and knows their order off the top of his head, an excellent choice for great food.
